Do You Need Transport Insurance?
The liability of the freight forwarder/carrier is limited by law or under the General German Freight Forwarder Terms and Conditions (ADSp), both in terms of grounds and amount. For example, there is no liability in the event of an unavoidable occurrence. And even where liability does apply, it is usually limited in amount, so the shipper does not receive 100% compensation for the loss. The shipper alone bears this risk.
We therefore recommend that our customers take out cargo transport insurance. This effectively protects goods and supply chains, ensures damages are settled quickly and without complications, and keeps customer relationships unaffected.
A cargo transport insurance policy is therefore often essential to business survival.
